Originally released in the golden year of 1987 the Chicago duo of Larry Thompson and Rick Lenoir (with a helpful production assist from the mighty Adonis and a dope remix from Steve "Silk" Hurley) crafted this anthemic slab of chunky, funked out jacking House. "Can't stop the house" is a straightforward, stripped back club track, no special FX - just straight up party music for sweaty dancefloors. This official 2016 reissue contains 4 mixes of this stone cold classic - The vocal mix, basement mix, house of trix mix and the rapid edit, all culled from the numerous pressings that came out in 1987 - 1989. In a sense, this is "the complete" collection of this cornerstone of Chicago House. The full set. There are more bands called Thompson: 1) Thompson is a Croatian rock band. The frontman, songwriter and lead vocalist of Thompson is Marko Perković. He is widely considered as to having a right political views, and was the main figure in patriotic movement during the Croatian-Serbian war. Thompson is considered Marko's stage name. Along Marko, the lineup also includes Tiho Orlić as supporting vocalist and bass guitarist, with the remaining members of the bend being less prominent. The name "Thompson" comes from the Thompson submachine gun, which was Perković's nickname. Originally from Čavoglave in the Dalmatian hinterland, Perković's home was the Croatian capital of Zagreb until 2013, then he moved with his family in Split. Thompson also features annually at the Homeland Victory celebrations in his hometown of Čavoglave. These performances are attended by many visitors, ranging from 60,000 to 120,000 spectators, and feature Croatian popular artists.
