DESCRIPTION:
4 Track EP OF Tuff Funky & Growling Techno - Rebuke returns for his third EP on Drumcode, reinforcing his status as one of the most innovative new artists in techno.

The Irishman’s previous offerings on the label ‘Rattle’ and ‘Obscurity’ have been standouts; interesting and innovative in equal measures, the artist’s grind to push himself sonically and offer up something fresh with each release profoundly evident. ‘Rattle’ was a commercial and critical success, included in DJ Mag’s tracks of 2019 round-up, while ‘Obscurity’, garnered acclaim from all corners of the industry and saw all three tracks hit the Beatport Techno Top 10 (Peak Time / Driving).

‘Wasp’ continues this inspiring vein of form. The lead track is a signature Rebuke’ the kind that of synapse-searing belter that promises to join the canon of his biggest tracks to date. ‘Clarity’ and ‘Redemption’ are shimmering slices of cinematic techno, drawing as much inspiration from film soundtracks, as they do from the rave, reinforcing the artist’s expansive creative approach. ‘Redemption’ will be familiar to many, having highlighted Rebuke’s acclaimed Essential Mix last summer. It continues on the same thematic tip, a stirring widescreen composition, powerful and emotive; it’s destined to be an end-of-night tear-jerker, once it’s safe for parties to

Last FM Information on Rebuke

Please note the information is done on a artist keyword match and data is provided by LastFM.
1. Rebuke is a melodic punk / hardcore band from Gothenburg, Sweden that has been around since 2003. Their brand of music has it's roots in the mid 90s californian punk rock scene, but is blended with a bit of hardcore and a few slices of metal riffs, to form a distinct sound. Lyrically they cover everything from politics to personal topics, always in a sophisticated manner to fit the music like a glove. After being a trio for a long time the band got a new drummer and a second guitarist in early 2008. Over the years they've put out an array of DIY releases, but the latest album "Wouldworks", really stands out as a new top watermark for the band, both performance and sound wise. In 2009 they did one tour of Europe and one to the UK which dramatically has improved their playing skills. In 2010 they signed with Kickass Records in Belgium and Disconnect Disconnect Records in the UK. Refusing to slow down, or give up over the fact that their music might not be what the radio wants to play, labels want to sign, or even what the kids of today listens to on Myspace while dyeing their hair, Rebuke continues to rage on with their speedy drumming, catchy hooks and heavy riffs. See you in the pit! 2. RebUke is also the politically focused solo project of Descendents’ Milo Aukerman, started in 2020. The debut single “45…not a LP” features three songs originally slated for the next Descendents album, 9th & Walnut. These songs were rerecorded by him alone using an array of ukuleles and percussion instruments. “I’ve spent most of my punk rock life avoiding the temptation to write political songs; it always seemed like politics is the obvious go-to subject of punk and thus not of interest to me,” Aukerman said in a statement. “Unfortunately, after the 2016 U.S. Presidential election I find myself virtually unable to write songs about anything else.” (Source: www.rollingstone.com) Read more on Last.fm.
