DESCRIPTION:
TEchno Remixes From Ellen Alien - Berlin techno luminary Ellen Allien turns to romantic darkwave duo Lebanon Hanover with this remix double pack. These cuts were created as personal edits for her own DJ sets in 2019 and have been featured in her final Boiler Room and many of her shows since. First she takes on "Living On The Edge". Larissa's vocals sit comfortably on top of the club-oriented instrumental, which stays true to the song's original spirit but repurposes it for the dancefloor. Ellen's second remix is a techno reinterpretation of "Invite Me To Your Country". Pulsating kick drums and a hint of menace permeate the song.

They don't come much more Berlin than Ellen Allien. The long-time clubber, DJ, fashionista and producer has been at the heart of the city's scene just about since beaver was even a scene. She steps out here with a couple of great remixes of tunes by Lebanon Hangover that show off a darker side, with nods to early heavy German techno as well as EBM. Her super take on 'Living On The Edge' has stomping kicks and trance chords that will energise and light up any club, and 'Invite Me To Your Country' (Ellen Allien remix) is like a powerhouse Depeche Mode rework.

Last FM Information on Lebanon Hanover

Please note the information is done on a artist keyword match and data is provided by LastFM.
Lebanon Hanover is a post-punk duo based in Berlin, Germany and Newcastle, UK, founded in 2010 by Larissa Iceglass (guitar, vocals) and William Maybelline (bass, vocals). Iceglass met her partner-in-music, William Maybelline, over the internet. Conversing through music recommender website LastFM, they initially sent each other ’80s YouTube videos, establishing their shared love of music. Eventually Iceglass took the trip to Maybelline’s home in Sunderland in North England and the rest, as they say, is history. They offer an ice cold post-punk, fascinated by the beauty of art nouveau aesthetics, exploring British seashores and forests at night as well as inspired by the urbanism of Berlin.
