DESCRIPTION:
2x12" Electro Techno A killer selection of ice cold motorized Detroit electro tracks by Le Car! After Le Car had been dismantled and the parts put in storage years ago we have a final ride with Le Car that has been reassembled for the occasion. 20 years after their first test drive we celebrate the last ride of Le Car on Clone Classic Cuts. Enjoy the ride! (ltd edition 2lp album)

Techno has been tied to Detroit's once fabled auto industry since Cybotron's "Alleys Of Your Mind" and "Cosmic Cars." Le Car, a duo comprising Ian R. Clark and ADULT.'s Adam Lee Miller, also linked the industry to techno's close cousin, electro. They released a handful of EPs in the mid to late '90s through Miller's Ersatz Audio label, but, unless you're an electro head, you probably haven't heard of Le Car.

Though the duo's first EP was roughshod—the kind of record two Submerge fanboys might have made around then—Le Car quickly developed into something greater, reaching their apex with the 1997 album Automatic before Miller

Last FM Information on Le Car

Please note the information is done on a artist keyword match and data is provided by LastFM.
Detroit duo Le Car make quirky, lo-fi listening techno reminiscent of Kraftwerk and Gary Numan, as well as more recent upgrade artists such as Elecktroids, Dopplereffekt, and Ectomorph. Consisting of Adam Miller (adult.) and Ian Clark (perspects), most of Le Car's material to date (including the Autofuel and Autograph EPs) has appeared on Miller's Ersatz Audio and Monoplaza imprints, established by Miller and partner/producer Robert Saltz in 1995 with the idea to pair dancefloor tracks with more experimental B-sides. Although EA's first few releases stuck to that program, more recent singles have shifted almost exclusively toward left field. Le Car were featured on the Electro Juice and Five compilations released by Austrian electronica label Sabotage alongside remarkably similar-sounding artists such as Patrick Pulsinger, Def Con, and the Private Lightning Six. In addition to the Le Car singles, Ersatz Audio has released tracks by Miller and Clark solo projects (Artificial Material and Lesseninglesson, respectively), as well as the 1996 compilation EP Omniolio and the major retrospective Auto-Biography.
