DESCRIPTION:
2x12" Electro / IDM - By now, long time veteran DMX Krew is very much one of the Hypercolour family. This is the studio magician's fourth album with the UK crew and is another fine feather in his already very resplendent bow. It features all his signature melodies, mechanical beats and expressive sound designs across two super slabs of wax. As usual it is a distinctly hardware heavy sound that results in rich analogue textures throughout. From the sci-fi fun of sludgy opener 'Unconnected' to the broken rhythms of 'Wetware' this is another classic.

Self-styled ‘house husband, record producer’, DMX Krew, continues his effortless stretch of releases that date back to the early 90s, with a new album for Hypercolour.

His deft melodies and mechanical, electro-tinged beats have made for some classic albums in his repertoire, from his incredible run of albums for Rephlex Records, up to 2020’s ’Ghost Bubbles’ long player for Terrestrial Funk. And so ‘Loose Gears’ marks DMX Krew’s fourth album for British stalwarts, Hypercolour, and fans will not be disappointed.

Armed with an arsenal of hardware, and a head full of futuristic visions, ‘Loose Gears’ collects eleven tracks of the customary quality we have come to expect from DMX Krew.

From the funk laden ‘Solar Transit’ to bleepy chugger ‘Dejected Ambient Twerp’, the vibrant synths and spongy rhythms of ‘Torpedo Tube’ to the beatless wiggle of ‘Xpansion 2’, there’s much in store to be savoured on ‘Loose Gears’, as DMX Krew serves up another fine selection of electronic goodies.

Last FM Information on DMX Krew

Please note the information is done on a artist keyword match and data is provided by LastFM.
DMX Krew is the recording name of Ed Upton. He has released 6 full albums on Aphex Twin's label Rephlex Records, one full album on Legowelt's Strange Life Records, and numerous singles/EP's for both Rephlex, his own Breakin Records, and various other. DMX Krew's sound spans several electronic music genres but had mostly been rooted in early electro-pop/breakdance type music. The release of The Collapse of the Wave Function EPs are geared toward a different more experimental direction. In 2005 Ed Upton & up and coming artist camp cassidy koept threw their weight into a very different sound. Read more on Last.fm.
