DESCRIPTION:
4 Track EP Of Tech / Deep House Sampling Tchaikovsky - Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy (The Nutcracker Suite) & Phantom Of The Opera
Chiqito is the next in line to make his debut on the famed Hot Creations imprint with his standout four-track EP titled Phantom Of the Opera. A big fan of the label, he fits perfectly into the diverse and celebrated catalogue.
Dance Of The Sugar sets the tone for the EP with solid, tech-house beats, reverberated vocal cuts and a heavy bassline, before a break-down with a familiar melody takes you by surprise. Next up Phantom Of the Opera has a swinging groove and shuffled percussion, with hypnotic vocals that come into full play, making the title of the track fully apparent. Bumpa has more minimal undertones with delicate percussion, yet stays true to Chiqito’s sound with infectious vocal hooks. Last up, Freestyles is a pacey number with an off-kilter groove and is a perfect way to round off the EP.
Chiqito has always been a music addict. In 2012 he released Gangbang on Cuartero’s Sanity Records, which helped propel his name into the limelight. An army of supporters ensued in the form of Jamie Jones, DJ Sneak, Matthias Tanzmann, Maceo Plex, Nic Fanciulli, Andrea Oliva, Carlo Lio, Loco Dice, Cocodrills, Nathan Barato, and many others. Releases soon followed on the likes of Elrow Music, Dirtybird, Snatch!, Brock Wild, Toolroom, Suara, Rawthentic, Stereo Productions, Inmotion Music, and I'M A HOUSE GANGSTER.

Chiqito (real name Acsai Attila) from Budapest is the latest artist to join the I’m A House Gangster ranks, with his four track ‘History Of House’ release.
At just 26 years of age, it’s a bold statement from the Hungarian producer, but one which he more than justifies across the four tracks with strong classic Chicago influences shin in through. History Of House and Ravers Hipsters track are characterised by jacking beats at faster tempos and twisted vocal samples, while Build It Up and Money go deeper and darker, but retain the funk and old school sounds.
Chiqito says the EP was influenced by the old school sound, with a focus on the House Gangster ethos of not pandering to current trends.
As with most House producers, Chiqito started out DJing and making music as a hobby before developing into something more serious when, at the age of 18, record labels started taking interest in his work. An initial signing to Colorswork Recordings paved the way for releases on Deeperfect (Stefano Noferini’s label), Toolroom Records (Mark Knight) and Stereo Productions (DJ Chus). Support has flooded in with plays from Loco Dice, Carlo Lio, Alli Borem, Hector Couto, Richie Hawtin and DJ Sneak among many others, culminating in a number of high placing tracks in Beatport’s sales charts.
