William Wright alias, artist name Topazz, was born in Nashville Tennessee, a 4th of February as the 8th of 9 brothers and sisters. Williams love for music shows at the young age of 13 when William and 4 other friends, he grew up with , started a group call the junior temptations. At that time he used to study the voices of Melvin Franklin, Larry Gram, Issec Hayes, Lou Rawels and Barry White. This music experience was short since William was very sportive. He played football, baseball, and basketball. Because of his height (2 meters) he stood out in basketball. In junior high school began his B-Ball career. The first year in high school he set a record with 45 points, and received honours as all city, all state and all district. In junior college his team won regional during 1st year and became 7th in the nation during 2nd year. After 1st year in Major College U.T.C. in Tennessee, his team became national champs and William was inducted in the basketball hall of fame for best rebounder in the south region. The next year he went to play to South America and the on to Europe. In Europe he played in Austria, Germany, Sweden, France, Switzerland, Holland and Belgium. It is in Belgium he retired and started his musical career. His first single “Yes we are tall” was recorded in Antwerp, Belgium. In the release party they open up for the famous singer Chakakan. In 1988 William recorded a single with John Paul Decoster a D.J. turn producer on the label Byte Records. It is then he became “Bizz Nizz” and recorded “ Watch out for Bizz Nizz”. Next year he recorded the hit single “Don’t miss the party line” and appeared in several TV shows in U.K. like “Top of the pops”, “Hit Man and Her”, etc…. 1994 after recording the album “New York New York “ with a group called Plug , he goes on promotion European tour with the famous Fred Wesley from James Brown group. 1997 created the group “Positive Rush” together with a member of Johnny Guitar Watson and produced the album “Oh”. It was during this time that William scored his first roll in a French movie called “Pa Lizard”. Two of the album’s tracks were also used in the film. At this time William starts his solo career and becomes “Topazz” going back to his love for funky house style. Topazz recorded his 1st single “New Millenium” in 1998.
