Releases by njoi

Njoi, AKA Mark Franklin and Nigel Champion, The original warehouse party live keyboard band from the early nineties, have both been writing separately for the last 10 yrs, but are now reforming and making a spectacular comeback with a set of brand new mixes of their original hit record Anthem Originally on Deconstruction and released in 1990, and culminating in a National top 10 and worldwide hit, selling in excess of half a million in its original guise Anthem is now to be released on The New Black, licensed from Alternative Route Recordings (Desyn Masiellos label) in August 2006. Andrew Loveday is the new member of Njoi and has been involved in the Music Industry since 1992 as a Promoter and DJ working at notorious clubs such as Legends and Club UK. In the mid 90s he made a sharp career move and became a major figure in the British film Industry, this is where Andrew first engaged with Nigel (NJOI) approaching him to write music for his films. Whilst filming in Romania he het the biggest selling female artist over there Loredana, who gave her permission for Andy and Nigel to remix her current hit which has now been signed to Phonetik records. Andrew then started producing with Nigel who was at the same time making plans to re-launch Njoi and it became apparent to Nigel that Andrew would be ideal as the extra cog in the wheel necessary to form Njoi 2. Mark agreed and the rest as they say is history in the making. The leading mix of "Anthem" is by the Hoxton Whores who have done an awesome job of giving this already classic record a new life. Njoi themselves have also created a monster with their Drum & Bass Mix. There is already an onslaught of gigs coming in, with just having headlined Fantazia in Scotland and a tour to Australia, and Quadrant Park reunion on March 11th. They have new singles up their sleeves, followed by an Album later this year. Read more on Last.fm.
