Releases by angelle

Angelle (real name Sarah Bennett, née Davies) is a British singer best known for the publicity surrounding her 2002 single, "Joy and Pain". To promote the single, Angelle's millionaire boyfriend, Steve Bennett, paid £2 million to play the single non-stop for four and a half hours a day on UK satellite channel Vibe TV. Vibe TV followed the young singer as she went about recording and promoting her debut single and album and attempting to make a mark on the UK music scene. Despite this incessant promotion, the single failed to break the top 40 in the UK, charting at #43. Following this disappointment, a subsequent single release was pulled and her album, "The Way I Am," saw a limited internet only release in the form of a two disc collection of ballads and hi-nrg europop. Afterwards, Angelle married Steve Bennett and moved to a career in jewellery design. Her husband launched another TV channel, this time promoting her jewellery, Gems TV (now Gemporia). This venture was much more successful, and Angelle, who is now the director of Gemporia under her real name, continues to appear on the channel to sell her designs. Read more on Last.fm.
