DESCRIPTION:
Vocal Tech, Deep House - Rekids welcomes HUD with the ‘Sugar’ single, remixed by Mark Broom and DJ Deep.

Unearthed by Radio Slave via a 2022 Ricardo Villalobos set, UK artist HUD lands on the celebrated Rekids imprint with ‘Sugar’, alongside remixes from scene legends Mark Broom and DJ Deep.

HUD’s ‘Sugar’ is a high-energy breakbeat track assured to set the dancefloor alight on every occasion, rife with lush piano melodies, a driving bassline and a cheeky, earworm vocal. Reimagining the track first is Rekids regular Mark Broom, infusing ‘Sugar’ with a dose of his mutated battle breaks, turning up the flange on the drums and amplifying its gorgeous piano top-line. This is before DJ Deep closes the record with a big party anthem remix, complete with tripped-out vocal chops and infectious techno rhythm.

HUD'S BIOGRAPHY- Can Any Good Thing Come Out of Houston, Texas? HUD was born in Houston, Texas the birthplace of Beyonce Knowles of the multi-platinum selling group Destiny's Child, Mike Jones, Scarface, Brooke Valentine, Chamillionaire, and many others. HUD was raised in the Kelly Court Village in the 5th Ward housing projects, on the north-east side of Houston. The 5th Ward at that time was one of the roughest neighbourhoods in the Houston metropolitan area. The 5th Ward was a crime infested neighbourhood surrounded by drugs, violence, murder, prostitution, and crooked cops. It was like living in a jungle he reminisces. .. It was all about survival. And as I look back over my life I made it. He states with a smile on his face. 5th Ward was also home of J-Prince the CEO of Rap-A-Lot Records, the Geto Boys and Heavyweight boxing sensation George Foreman. It was in the ghetto, on the basketball court where HUD would begin to dream. HUD's dream was to play professional basketball, but that dream was short-lived when an opponent he had constantly beaten on the basketball court stabbed him with a knife. Whilst recovering from this incident, HUD began to write songs about his life experiences and today he still continues to do so. From HUD's earliest childhood, rap has been a tremendous part of his life. After pursuing other interests and moving to London, England he has returned to his second love. HUD's first love was basketball, but since that dream was short-lived, he decided the only way to make money was to become his own boss. After working in the freight business, HUD began to save his money to purchase a truck and this was the beginning of S&G Distributors. HUD has certainly come a long way since the turmoil of his childhood. He is not only a rapper, but he is also a motivational speaker and a businessman. He has had the privilege to speak at an anti-gang and an anti-drug rally sponsored by the former Mayor of the City of Houston, Bob Lanier and has also worked on the Turning Point Program with inmates at the Texas Department of Correction to influence positive changes in their lives. He ran motivational classes and also worked on a one-on-one basis as a Mentor to encourage inmates to change their perspectives on life and to prepare for re-entry into society on their release. HUD is the President and CEO of his own enterprise which he oversees. He's the brains behind a freight company, a tire and rim company, a music publishing company, a recording studio, an investment company, and Ingenuity Records which have offices based in London, England and Houston, Texas. While at home in London, HUD saw opportunity in the music industry, so he decided to capitalize on this and set up his own independent music label - Ingenuity Records Limited. Why should the Music Industry take notice of HUD? HUD has emerged on the scene with the street banger Let's Ride and the laid back club grooves of Reassure You, which I'm sure, will find instant appeal from coast to cost with people of all ages. This Southern Rapper has crept on the scene with these explosive hot tracks which will definitely add fuel to the fire that is already burning down in the South. HUD has teamed up with long time friend and super producer Randy "Raw Kat" Washington. Raw Kat has produced tracks for Deja who is signed With Virgin Records, Wine-O who is currently signed with Universal Records and Brooke Valentine who is signed with Virgin/Subliminal Entertainment. HUD has also teamed up with James Hoover and Mark Kidney of Digital Services of Houston, Texas. James Hoover and Mark Kidney have recorded, engineered and mixed music for many USA platinum artists such as The Geto Boys, Destiny's Child, Chamillionaire, Frankie J, Clint Black and many others. HUD is affiliated with Pulse Model Management in London. He's looking to further his career in modeling and acting as well. HUD brings forth powerful messages, dealing with many situations of today. The message he brings, is in a manner which certainly transcends social, cultural and age barriers. HUD states... my life is a movie. The Antoine Fischer Story doesn't have anything on my story. He elaborates ...Greatness is birth out of struggle, heartache, setbacks and pain so right now I'm cashing in. ©2006/07 INGENUITY RECORDS. HOUSTON, TX 77056. Read more on Last.fm.
